The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum<\/a> was a popular place to be in 2012. Museum officials have announced that 564,777 people visited the Museum last year. It is the largest attendance total in the institution\u2019s 45 year history.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to thank our local, national and international visitors for such strong support,\u201d Museum Director Kyle Young said. \u201cOur attendance revenue last year increased more than 15% over 2011, which was also a record year. Through November 2012, our operating revenues increased by about 9% over prior year, and we expect that number to hold through December 2012.\u00a0 In these challenging economic times, we don\u2019t take this for granted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe attribute the strong year to several factors,\u201d Young continued.\u00a0 \u201cWe debuted a trio of popular exhibitions:\u00a0 The Bakersfield Sound:\u00a0 Buck Owens, Merle Haggard <\/a>and California Country<\/em>; Taylor Swift<\/a>: Speak Now\u2014Treasures from the World Tour<\/em> and Patsy Cline<\/a>: Crazy for Loving You<\/em>.\u00a0 We also offered a dynamic schedule of live programs and events.\u00a0 Finally, Nashville continues to thrive as a tourism destination, and we are happy to contribute to and benefit from this.\u00a0 There\u2019s an incredible synergy happening in our city, and it\u2019s exciting to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will be closed to the public from Tuesday, January 22 through Wednesday, February 6, 2013. The closure will allow the Museum to make needed improvements and accommodate construction related to the Museum\u2019s expansion project. It will reopen on Thursday, February 7, 2013.<\/p>\n
