Charley Pride will perform at the 2013 Black Tie & Boots Inaugural Ball on Saturday, January 19. Held at the Gaylord National Resort in Washington, D.C., the ball takes place Saturday, January 19, and is one of the largest events scheduled during the upcoming Inaugural festivities. Radney Foster and Asleep At The Wheel will also perform.
“I am pleased and honored to be a part of this event that celebrates President Obama and the start of his second term in office—it’s truly wonderful to be asked to perform,” Charley said. “The Texas State Society knows how to throw a great party, so I’m looking forward to a very memorable evening.”
This is the second time Charley has performed during an Inauguration-related event. He first performed during a Capital Centre gala celebrating President Ronald Reagan’s Inauguration on January 20, 1981.
Charley ended 2012 with several recognitions and achievements. He toured Ireland and the United Kingdom and was inducted into the IEBA Hall of Fame.
He wrapped up 2012 with a number of recognitions and achievements. In addition to his tours of Ireland and the United Kingdom, Charley was inducted into the IEBA Hall of Fame. He also donated a number of items to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture, who also honored him during an event in Dallas, Texas.
Charley is planning a tour of Canada in May and following the Inaugural Ball, will head to Arizona to continue his annual tradition of working out with the Texas Rangers during spring training.
